The team at Truckstops Christchurch Volvo decided to give back to their community through the magic of Christmas by tackling a charity project.  They teamed up with Pillars, an organisation that offers support to kids living with a parent in prison, to collect gifts for the children.

Pillars’ staff were very grateful for Truckstops’ contribution of gifts, handed over by Andre Van der Kaay (Branch Manager) and Mitchell Brown (Parts Manager), and were able to combine them with food and household goods parcels to distribute to the families in need.

“It was overwhelming to see the team contribute to such a great cause and I am very proud of this effort,” commented Andre.  “We collected gifts for boys and girls of all ages that included new toys, books, educational toys, and board games.  What a privilege to be part of a team and project like this.”

Pillars engages children and their families to work towards healthy and successful futures and even runs a mentorship program.  Find out more about them here: https://www.pillars.org.nz/
