An estimated crowd of 12,000 descended on the purpose-built site at Three Parks, Wanaka. Vehicle enthusiasts were there to gaze at static and moving displays of hundreds of cars, trucks, tractors, earthmovers and motors - big and small - vintage and modern. Mack Trucks were the silver sponsor and proved to be a popular attraction for the visitors.

The Mack site featured MTD’s Mack No 1 FR700 6x4 Tractor unit which took out the ‘Best in Show’ award. The legendary Mack No 1 is the first Mack built by MTD Trucks, in New Zealand in the 1970’s.  Graham Manson’s 1940 ED Mack Junior was on display and won the ‘Best Pre War Truck’ award. There was also a 1986 Mack Superliner owned by Craig Jolly Earthmoving. Mack were the only site to display new trucks showing off the impressive Mack Superliner and new Mack Trident.

Truckstops were there in full force to support the Mack team with displays & merchandise offerings for sale. Mack umbrella’s proved popular at the beginning of the even due to the South Island wet weather. The team gave away a chilly bin to Greg Inch and an Xbox to Alex McLellan from McLellan Freight Ltd Balclutha (pictured).
