Further expansion to Mt Maunganui, Hamilton, Central Auckland, Lower Hutt, Palmerston North; national parts distribution centre (PDC) established; Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd gets a new logo
1989
TIL ownership transferred to Corporate Investments (which would later become Montana Group Ltd in 1999)
1990
Invercargill branch opens
1995
Auckland and Rotorua branches open
2000
Second branch in Auckland opens in south Auckland. TIL group is purchased by Cycle & Carriage Ltd
2002
Whangarei branch opens
2004
Sime Darby Motor Group buys Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd, along with other Truck Investments group companies
2006
Nelson branch opens
2009
Volvo appoints Truck Investments as its countrywide franchise; Trucks Stops Recycling Division (TRD) added to Lower Hutt branch
2010
Volvo is introduced to the Hamilton, Napier and Nelson branches
2011
Trucks Stops Recycling Division (TRD) moves to Palmerston North
2013
Opening of the new purpose built workshop in Invercargill.
Take-over of Southern Viking operations in Christchurch as the 16th Truck Stops branch.
Truck Stops parent company TIL changes its name to Sime Darby Commercial (NZ) Limited
2017
Blenheim Branch opens servicing Hino, Mack, Renault and Volvo
2018
Truckstops updated its corporate image to a new “more modern, crisper, cleaner” look which better reflected the company and where it is today. Completion of the brand refresh across all 17 branches will take around 18 months.
